Need For Speed adalah salah satu game yang sudah tidak diragukan lagi, dari kesemua serinya mempunyai cerita serta efek yang berbeda-beda, makanya tidak sedikit orang memburu permainan race ini karena permainan ini salah satu di antara game ilustrasi di dunia balap yang menguji keterampilan serta ke ahlian sang pemain game.

Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed dirilis sebagai Porsche 2000 di Eropa, Need for Speed Porsche di Jerman serta di Amerika Latin, game ini bagian dari Need for Speed atau yang kita sebut dengan NFS.
Tidak seperti NFS seri lainnya, NFS Porsche Unleashed berpusat di sekitar balap mobil sport Porsche, dengan model mulai 1950-2000, permainan ini terkenal karena informasi yang luas mengenai Porsche dan mobil nya . Berbeda dengan empat Need for Speed sebelumnya dan Porsche Unleashed tidak dirilis di Jepang.
